Passing through again.

How do people stay in touch nowadays? Is there still an IRC channel somewhere? I recently had to start using Discord because AIM & MSN are gone and ICQ stopped allowing 3rd party clients to connect a few months ago. Google Talk still works, but I've only got 4 contacts on that compared to 100+ from the days when AIM was popular.

I'm not sure if there is an official IRC channel anymore. I keep in touch with Parasyte via text, and there is an IRC room for GSHI that a lot of the oldbies still log in to.

Hey everyone

I'd been pretty active in NDS hacking circa 2014 or so. I look fondly on these times, I think they were pretty formative (I was ~14 at the time). Extremely nostalgic being back on, seeing my old posts, private messages, etc.

How's everyone doing these days? I know I wasn't super close with y'all but curious as to how everyone's doing. I sent a friend request to Parasyte via Discord some time ago to join the group but no response.

It occurred to me looking at some old hard drives that I was 13-14 when I first started coming to GSC, and I'm pretty sure I was 15 when KW started. A lot of you guys were some of my first real influences. Could have ended up really poorly with how naive I was, but you are all super awesome and great people. I dont think I would be a software dev (or alive) today without having been associated with all of you here and in the IRC channels.

Unrelated to that, life is pretty shit compared to when I last posted but I felt the need to get my "thanks" out there.

I was the same age when I first started coming to GSC. You’ve definitely come a long way from making pizzas, hope life gets better for you, Lemma

This could probably be its own thread somewhere, but Parasyte and I reverse engineered the N64 Gameshark and made it open source hardware: https://github.com/RWeick/REF1329-N64-Gameshark-Clone

Well I repaired one for Parasyte, and we are planning on trying to glitch our way into a dump of the MCU. It was pretty cool to mess with while I had it!

Oh yeah, Trainer Toolkit. I designed and built a thing to help break the lock on the MCU ROM. Haven't tested it yet, I've been busy trying to cover my cost of living. (Same old story.) It needs another MCU or SBC to drive the clock and trigger brownout on the right clock cycles to glitch reading the protection bit. I'm planning to use a Raspberry Pi Pico for that.

I loved my TT with every fiber of my being... Such a great hobby to have back then. I think my leg kicked got caught in the USB cord once, when it was plugged into my PC <--> NDS, and that was the end of that. Broke a copper wire on the inside and my Dad couldn't solder it/we may have had the wrong area.

I remember that assclown Rune. If you posted codes or cheats, he would claim the he "got em" and never really updated anything. If you called him out he'd get super pissy and bitch (or ban) or his boyfriend Ben (the mod that always signed his posts - Ben) would do that same if he was told to do it.
