Now, for something different.
Name Extension CodesThese allow you to have larger than normal names for: Yourself, Your Dog, and Your Cat.Also the rest of your animals, but I'm still... Eh... Well I'm just not in the mood to do it.. I may later.
The normal limit for all (?) names in Harvest Moon DS Cute names is 6 characters.
With these codes, you're new limits are:
Your Name: 16 Characters.
Dog's Name: 11 Characters.
Cat's Name: 10 Characters.
Technically, you can have up to 16 with all names, but it can cause problems in some menus, and is, overall, pointless.
So keep it to the above limits, as defined by the codes below.
These codes, like all name mods, can be somewhat confusing at first.
I'll explain the use in detail below, after the codes.

The names must be defined in ASCII Hex Codes in reverse order.
Also, all unused X's must be replaced with 0's.
Now, let's give an example.
Let's say you want your name to be "Pretty Girl".
That's 10 characters, 4 more than the usual limit.
And, with a 16 character limit, that means you have 5 unused characters.
So, "Pretty Girl". (Minus the quotes)
In ASCII, using the Hex codes, that would be 50 72 65 74 74 79 20 47 69 72 6C
Now, you can either transcribe that by hand, which, if you know how, then great, but most people won't know how to do that.
Instead, use
this. Now, there are many tools out there, I just like that one.
Put the name you want into the "Text" field. Remember the maximum of 16 characters! THIS INCLUDES SPACES AND ALL SPECIAL CHARACTERS!
Also, Harvest Moon doesn't allow many "special characters", so, just stick to letters and numbers, just in case.
Now, hit "Encode" under the "Text" field. Over towards the right, in the "Hex" field, is your name in ASCII Hex code! (I really just don't have a better name for it.)
Now! DON'T JUST GO PLUGGING IT IN! As that'll make shit really fucking weird.
Now, how to use that Hex!
Remember what I said?
You have to plug in the Hex in reverse order, in each "X" field.
I'll show you.
Each field holds 4 characters.
So, let's start with the first.
The first 4 characters in our name are "Pret", which, in ASCII Hex, is 50 72 65 74.
So, if the code is:

Input those in reverse order in the first line of "X"s!

I reached the end, so all the other X's are replaced with 0's.
And, because it's in reverse order, it came first.

I hope you understand.
The Dog and Cat name codes are used in the same way.
But remember, keep them at their limits!
It won't cause serious problems if you go over on the Dog or Cat, it'll just be annoying, and I don't recommend it.
I've tested these thoroughly, they do work. If you're having problems, it's
your fault.
