This will work on somewhat small scratches on most handheld screens:

What you will need:
+ ToothPaste (I've been informed Brasso works, too but haven't tried it)
+ A Handheld Screen that is scratched (PSP, Top Screen of DS, IPod, ect)
+ Cloths (Disposable CD cleaning cloths are the best bet) or a cotton swab

Directions:

1.) Put a small amount of Toothpaste on the tip of the cloth or cotton swab. Moisten cloth if necessary.
2.) Rub it into the screen in a circular motion like you are buffing a car. The longer you do this, the better the results will be. Be careful not to get it into the buttons of system. Apply a necessary amount of pressure.
3.) Let the toothpaste stand for awhile. The longer you do this, the better the results will be.
4.) Clean off the toothpaste with a damp cloth.
5.) Dry the screen and check for scratches, repeat if necessary.

I've tried this on my PSP, and it looks almost mint condition!

Thats what they recommended it on, but I don't have an IPod, Brasso, works the best for IPods, though. If you do any of this be careful not to use the wrong cloth, or get it in the buttons.

Doesn't it have to do with the toothpaste having bits of Graphite in it (Which scrapes the shit off your teeth) that evens out the scratches? Nice. Thanks, Baphomet. And keeps your device minty fresh!

This also works on CD/DVD/UMD/BlueRay/HDDVD ands mirrors. Yo must use a baking soda based toothpastes for the best results (the baking soda acts as an abrasive).

Blu-Ray/HD DVD are hard to scratch, they have a harder coating than CDs/DVDs.

You said Top Screen of the DS. Does that mean you can't clean the bottom screen doing this?

The lower screen in sunk in to the plastic, so you wouldn't be able to spread the stuff without getting lots of excess stuck around the edges of the screen.

The bottom screen is supposed to be dirty anyway, right? That is why you touch it...
