Has anybody played this? It's the dumbest idea ever, but it's addictive. http://minecraft.net If a lot of you guys want to start a server, then I may be able to start one. |

Ah, nice. I have a spare computer sitting around here and I was going to hook it up and run the Minecraft server software on it. Edit: A few friends of mine wanted me to start it for them. So, nevermind on my server. |

I got my server upgraded to OpenBSD 4.8, and the Minecraft alpha server works. But the little Acer Aspire Revo only has 1GB of memory. The Minecraft server wants 2GB minimum. I'll be spending the $65 to upgrade it to 4GB, since it needs the memory anyway. Then it can just be a full-time Minecraft server (+trac and hg, as it does right now). That's the plan, anyway. |

I have this desktop PC that I have had for a while now, but I never use it anymore since I have my Macbook Pro. The desktop has 4 GB of RAM in it, 500 GB Hard Drive, and a Triple core AMD Processor. I have been meaning to get it set up as a server for some things, but they never worked out because of me moving back down to Alabama. And wow, that's a nice little set-up. Is there even a disc drive on that thing? |

No disc drive. Just a 2.5" internal hard drive. It does have an SD slot and ESATA port, though. |
