Real photographers.

You know the ones who need manual control over the settings, aperture/shutter priority. External flash units, flash commander modes, timed exposures, more than one lens.

I have control over all the settings, just can't add on external pieces of equipment.

No you don't, you're missing a few of the big ones.

Manual Focus... being the huge one.
Aperture and Shutter Priority.
Remote capabilities.
RAW Format.

I'm not saying you can't take nice photos with snapshot cameras, but saying that there is no point in people buying a good DSLR is stupid. You would have taken better photos, the ones you posted above were nice but they would have been a lot better with the ability to manual focus with a better DOF from a larger aperture range.
