 Post subject: Installing Flash
PostPosted: Fri Mar 09, 2007 11:07 pm
Due to Vista being retarted, I can't install Flash from Adobe's site ( http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download ... kwaveFlash ). I click the "Download" button, and within one second of loading, it says its installed. So, I head back to youtube, and what do I find? "You need to install the latest version of Flash to view this content!" Yippie! So, naturally, I do it again. Same results, over and over. No box pops up asking me to install it, which is probably part of the problem.

Any suggestions on how I can get Flash to install? Thanks

Get rid of Vista, use a real OS, then flash will work.

I experienced the same problem on a laptop I am using to test RC1. I was installing our place's antivirus system which is a web based install. Even after turning off all the security on IE it still would not let me install.

Just another reason I'll stick with Mac ;)

I love my Mac. But it creates a conundrum: Firefox for OS X is not nearly as optimized as Safari. Safari is a good browser and all, but I absolutely cannot live without Adblock Plus. So I suffer a few problems with scrolling (especially with several Flash embeds and ugly alpha-blended tables and images (see: myspace)) for the good of all mankind. Thanks, Firefox!

IE7 + Windows Vista is the worst combination in computing history!

Had the same problem...
1) Get this (offline installer)
http://www.macromedia.com/go/full_flashplayer_win_ie
2) Close IE7
3) Execute the offline installer as "Run as Administrator"

IE7 < IE6, Mr. Joey.

It tried to rip off FireFox's look and completely failed.
