Okay, about half a year ago my L trigger on my DS started to become unresponsive. You had to push it just right for it to register. Then it stopped working. It started to work again for a while, and then decided to stop working again. Now this month my R button has become an hero. I took the shell off to see if there was dirt between the plastic trigger and the switch the trigger hits. There isn't any. So I try pressing the switch. The trigger still doesn't work. Anyone know what I can do? |

I would check the pads that the little rubber bit makes contact with. Also, you might want to use a multimeter to check the continuity between the motherboard and the pad. Perhaps a wire has come loose (or worse case, broken solder joint or such) from extended wear. |

DSman, all you need to do is wait say a month and everything will be back to normal 
No Hurry. Try blowing into your broken shoulder button. People have said that it'll fix it (Even though it didn't for mine. I just sent it in though) |

I would try cleaning the contact surfaces with isopropyl (rubbing alcohol) and a cotton ball or Q-tip. It works wonders on dirty or greasy electronics, and is completely harmless because it evaporates. Of course, it would probably be wise to remove the battery before operating on it. I've cleaned all my NES and SNES controllers' contact surfaces with it, and now they work like new. Just to give you an idea of how safe it is, it is the recommended method for cleaning thermal grease off of CPUs. |

LOL, last time I took apart my DS I blew one of the fuses in it. (Yes, there were sparks, which was pretty cool) Anyway, could the little spring be missing/messed up? |
