I have tried many of the different methods and come up short with a time out on the GCNrdgui. Right now I have an SD Gecko with the gcnrd.dol file on the card and have gotten as far as booting the program on the GCN side. When I input the IP's and save the settings and swap games it just times out.

Could this be a conflict with ports being used by something else perhaps? I usually can send dol files to the GCN but when it comes to this it will not communicate back and forth.

I haven't used it with SDGecko but one of the problems I had was that internet sharing was turned on on my computer. GCNrd requires its own DNS server but so does Internet Sharing. Apparently you can only have one DNS setup thing.. I don't know networking. heh But, yeah, maybe that could help.

How would I turn off internet sharing? Just disable the internet connection to the other nic card?

What settings did you put in to the PC side for the TCP/IP settings?

IP Address
Subnet Mask
Default Gateway
DNS Server

The answer to your first question is here.

And to the second, rtfm (it's in the readme).

:)

From what I found on the internet it looks like my internet sharing is not enabled, so that shouldn't be interfering.

I have figured out how to forward ports through the computer just in case that is screwing things up, so hopefully that will help. As for the PC settings I figure I am supposed to put the following settings in it:

IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.100
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1

But I do not know what to put in the DNS server position. I assume 192.168.1.1 but this may be wrong.

Woohoo it works for the most part. The only problem I see so far is that it keeps disconnecting randomly and coming back and working for a bit...is this normal?

It seems pretty unstable so there might be something I can do to make it a better connection. I am thinking it has to do with the hub, its been acting up in the last year so I stopped using it for things. Power cord is somehow reset on it sometimes so there could be more problems in there than I realize.

I will try the same method with the same wires on my new router to see if I get any new results.

I couldn't get the SD Gecko to boot the network correctly and initialize at the very beginning though. There are still a few bugs that I will have to figure out with my booting methods :?
