I have three computers 2 being laptops and 1 a PC Each one of them has 2 network interface cards(NIC) Each laptop has a wireless NIC and a wired NIC while the PC only has 2 LAN NICs
There are is a wireless access point that I can use but do not have physical contact with (leeching off neighbors wifi) Each laptop will connect to this wireless access point via the wireless NIC
There is a wired router that I have that connects to the internet (I leech off neighbors wifi since it is faster =/) but only the PC will use this (if the laptops used it too, it would get too slow since I upload a lot)
This leaves one wired NIC on each machine "open." I want to set up a home LAN that does not connect to the internet so that I can share files, and the printer between the three machines
I have a netgear GS605 switch ad i tried hooking everything up using it for the home LAN that doesn't connect to the internet but it seems that I cannot use both networks simultaneously. I can't download/upload onto the internet and download/upload onto the other machines on the LAN without cutting the other off.
So, is there a way to set-up everything so that I can use both networks simultaneously?
PC is running vista ultimate Laptop 1 is running Vista Business Laptop 3 is running Vista Business and Windows XP Pro
Thank you for your help in advance
