I burned a dual layer disc with nero and it took longer than usual to finish. Now it will not read any disc or let me burn any disc, keeps saying insert a blank disc, and the burn speed is at 2.4 as opposed to 4x and up to 16x. Anyone got a fucking clue? I tried Sonic Record Now as well, same thing. So its not a software issue. My drive is plug and play and there are no drivers for it, not even on the manufacturers website. I have uninstalled it, reinstalled it, tried multiple disc, cd, dvd, dvd dl, switched the cables inside, did a firmware update, wtf.... It just comes up in the control panel as if it was a folder, the drive icon is there without the rectangular DVD object in the top left, and when you click on it you go right into it as if it is a folder, as opposed to being asked to insert media into it. ?man, can you help out again? wild guess, by converting this into a external drive via usb/firewire would that even get it to work? http://dynexproducts.com/p-152-dynex-16 ... drive.aspx |

Well, check to make sure it's in DMA mode...other than that, it's probably physically damaged, worn out or otherwise. I've had a few drives in the past wear out or break, and this is similar to what happens. |
