Hey I wasn't sure if this was the right forum to post this in, but I don't think it'd fit anywhere else... So anyway I have heard some talk about a Irc channel for Kodewerx, if it exists what is the channel and domain that I connect to? I use mIRC so I know how to connect I just need those two things. Thanks. |

Like dlong has just said: There is no irc channel that is made by the admins here. The channel and network are privately owned by members here, so the rules are much different. |

Well apparently I don't know mIRC as well as I thought, so I couldn't even make it attempt to connect. |

First of all, get rid of mIRC. Next, get xchat: http://www.silverex.org/download/ After it's installed, open it up and just close the server list window that pops up. Now, on the command bar (the one on the bottom) type this: /server irc.ashlandpc.com You should see the following: --- *** Checking ident... --- *** Found your hostname --- *** Received identd response --- Welcome to the APC IRC IRC Network... (a bunch more lines of garbage) After all of that stops, type the following: /join #kodewerx This will get you into the Kodewerx IRC channel. From there someone should be able to help you further. To talk, just type what you want to say into the command bar and hit enter to say it. |

Thanks, but I'm not getting rid of mIRC, and I know how to talk - I'm not that stupid. Also Thunderhacker wrote: /server irc.ashlandpc.com was really all I needed to know. |

Sorry, no offence intended. My bad. When you said you didn't know mIRC I thought "IRC n00b."  Even if you don't get rid of mIRC you should still take a look at xchat. If you do scripting you'll find that Perl script is far more powerful than mIRC script. That said, I hope to see you on IRC some time.

I'm pretty comfortable with IRC cuz ive used other programs that have IRC. But im still learning about mIRC. Ill look at xchat, and even tho im not really into scripting cuz the channels i go to discourage it, I mite see into Perl scripting. I might come give the channel a visit if I find some time. |
