Learn HTML (Hypertext Markup Language). It's very easy to learn. All you need it Notepad. I use Notepad++ myself. It can be used for multiple programming languages. Download it and just search the internet to learn HTML. |

Don't buy no fucking book, there's plenty of FAQs about. You also need a space to uplaod your site to, you can either buy one or find some free hosting somewhere. |

Books are a waste, most are for either projects for you to get the hang of basic HTML and not DHTML or XHTML. The other books are reference, to help you with certain codes. All of this information can be found on the internet. If you want to use a WYSIWIG editor instead of a traditional notepad you can. I prefer typing the code myself, it makes me feel like I did it all on my own without the help of any flashy programs and such. If you have any questions just ask. |

A good reference/resource is the World Wide Web Consortium, aka w3c, site, http://www.w3.org/ A good tutorial site is w3's own...which is at http://www.w3schools.com/ If you have a very little experience in web design, just get a free web server first. If you are only planning on using XHTML/CSS, there are lots of free hosting out there. One being is tripod --> http://www.tripod.lycos.com/ note that tripod has forced ads that will be displayed on your web. You may want to try your ISP first if they are offering a free hosting for personal web space. Most ISP will have this offer for its customers. On the other hand, if you are planning to do PHP, you need to find a server that allows PHP execution. |

I know for a fact that Freewebs has advertisements. I got around this by using frames on my site. |
