Post subject: | C, C+, or C++ and Compilers. |
So I'm ready to learn a new language, and from what I'm guessing, C++ would be best for game development. This is of course for fun, learning, and just a hobby, I don't expect to be making the next Halo/MGS/LOZ, etc. etc. Just want something more powerful than VB. (Not powerful at all for games, but I have created alot with what it offers.) Anyway, so I'm guessing C++ is the way to go? I've picked up tons of resources on websites on game programming in C++ language. Also, which free and cost compiler do you think is best if any? Thanks for any help. |

C+? WTF I use mostly C, with the occasional std::vector and std::string. |

MinGW. If you use anything else, you need to eat a rock. I mean, eat a cock. |

I know, but Windows fails, therefore GCC still wins. |

MinGW it is then, thanks guys. Have any tutorials that stand out on understanding the language? Just curious if there is anything out there that realy stands apart in teaching C++. |
