I'm hoping to pickup a DLP tv at christmas time, but I don't know what to get. What's the best brand? What do you look for? What stores have the best prices and replacement plans (or should I bother)? I swear I saw a tv at Sam's Club for over $500 less than the same thing at Circuit City. WTF?

I was looking at a Toshiba or something around last year... Maybe there are better ones, now. But it's worth a look.

Ours is the Samsung DLP... I don't recall the size, but it's the "Official Television of the NFL".

LoLz that sounds like they practice with them. I couldn't think of anything more fun than throwing and kicking a HDTV about.

For some reason I've always fancied a Samsung. They're generally the ones they use in the video game stores around here and to be honest there aren't many others which seem to match the quality and price ratio. But then the UK is behind on TV technology (I think) so I could be very wrong.

whatever you get, your gonna pay a good bit for it.

I suggest something that does 1080p and has excellent color range. Widescreen as well.

My Sony Grand Wega 3LCD was the same price as another tv that was on the side of it, I chose the Sony brand because it boasted better color. I definately see that difference when I play games on my pc and port the video over via DVI-HDMI at 1080i.

Too bad I couldn't find affordable 1080p tv at that time.

Soul Calibur 2 looks bitchin :)
