To stick a memory stick (MS Pro Duo) into a laptop, without the proper adapter, and the whole thing crashes? I wasnt paying attention, and I stuck my MS into a friends laptop to give him music. Then I realized I couldnt get it out, cause it was too far in. Soon after, his screen went all screwey, jumping around and colorful and such. Now, he's pinning the repair bill on me! A memory stick, located at the VERY bottom of a laptop, in the corner, is going to screw up the screen and OS. Right... The only damage I could see that I COULD have done was turn the laptop on its side, and gently shake it to see if it would budge.

Who should pay the bill here? Me, or him and his crappy computer?

My laptop has crashed a couple of times when I've put a flash drive in, though there's never been any lasting damage. Regardless, don't pay the bill.

K, Ill take the MS and tell him to shove it up his ass. After all, a MS shouldnt ruin your HDD and OS :P

You stuck it too far in and got it jammed, that could mean you stuck it in far enough to touch the motherboard.

I dont think it hit the motherboard. All memory slots have an adapter place, which shouldnt come DIRECTLY into contact with the board. If it did hit the board however, it should only hit the side doing no damage I think.
