does it have to be Game Genie?
Because there is an invincibility (you can even walk through enemies) code for Action Replay.
Because I have Snes9K (with kaillera support) v. 1.42 for windows
and it accepts both AR and GG.
I tested this code out and it works 7E0BD805
except you have to disable to walk through enemy doors and upgrade capsules.
But right after you can enable it again.
Sorry couldn't find GG version for you.
Maybe someone else can idk.

Also, I found the code not too long ago. It appears that I didn't know about the fact that there were 2 versions of Megaman X and I was putting in the wrong version's codes.
