Just getting into the hacking scene myself so I still learning, but I can't find an answer to a burning question of mine: "How do I find the Offset for porting ARDS codes?" I can't find the info I'm looking for in the EnHacklopedia and there to many topics to search manually (or with the search function for that matter). But I was hoping some some could point me in the right direction. Links to another topic or page or even an explanation here, I'm not picky, anything would help! |

Porting AR codes to what? Do you mean porting from one region to another? One cheat device to another? |

It's all good. I will teach you! Remember that this doesn't work for every game or code(ASM codes can't be ported this way). Lets say we want to port a code from New Super Mario Bros [PAL] to the NTSC. First, you find a code that exists in both regions(If you can't find one, just open up no$GBA and Renegade and hack your own). I'll use this one. Code: 99 coins [PAL] 2209dc18 00000063 Code: 99 coins [NTSC] 2208b37c 00000063 Alright, now open calculator. Switch it to scientific mode, then select the Hex radio button in the top left corner(below the text box). Input the PAL address(0209dc18) then hit - and enter the NTSC address(0208b37c) and press enter. The offset is 1289C. Code: Always Have Giant Mushroom [PAL] 2209dbc8 00000005 -0001289C =2208b32c 00000005 [Always Have Giant Mushroom [NTSC] Yay. If you have any more questions or need any more help, let me know. hahhah good old thread. @jeronfoxx: Windows calculator. Have to switch to the mode that lets you select "hex" as the number base. |
