I have the home edition but I don't know how to find out the pass. Someone else usually logs on for me. I don't want to change the password though. I just want to find out what it is. Thanks.

I'd tell you to brute force it, just for fun, but, eh, screw that.

Get yourself a password recovery boot disc online (if it's not FREE, it's not worth it).

OR, set up a Hacksaw on a flash drive, I recommend Gonzor's Payload, and use that the next time you're logged into that computer.

There are other ways, of course.

It is incredibly simple, you press a button and it tells you.

Title: The Darkest Fiend
i saw something on this the other day, look for applicatons that use the "rainbow table" as it will run through possible passwords basically using all the words of he alphabet.ill take a look later for the app that i found specifically for doing this and see if i can link it to you. i believe it can also be done over a network and wirelessly, so you dont actually need to be on the machine, just a machine that is on the same network :D

"update"
its called ophcrack, you can get it for free at their site, and look for a tutorial on how to use it. it will only work with XP and not vista.

I suggest using windows back door login to change your pass to what you want:
when choosing the account you want to log in as, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE and you'll get a screen asking you for a username and a password.type in "admistirator" in the username section and dont put anything in the password bit.press ok and your on the admistrator that comes with every xp computer.

Now go to control pannel and click on user accounts, change your pass and your all done!
:D

Hah go to command prompt, type in the following format-

net user (account name) (new password of your choosing)

Example-

net user Bob zero

This will change the password of that account on xp to the one you chose, even if they are an administrator.

It will not tell you the password like you asked, but since you disregarded my method of finding out the password, use this to change it.

Oh. Sorry about your other method. It was actually the one I was going to use, but when I looked it up, the insructions were kinda... unsettling... I'll try it again.

Why is there a password anyways? Do your parents have like parental controls on you?

[Edit] Fuck it, here ill do your work for you. The best way to learn is to do yourself, but whatever. This program is only to be used for experimental purposes! Blah blah.

You better have Winrar kid, if not, don't even say you don't and just get it.

Fuck the riskware. The riskware is someone finds out the password to the account. Open the bin folder of the file, double click the program that's in there, the password will nicely pop up on the screen for you!

Of course it works, the password is in the command prompt. So either learn to take a really fast picture or figure out how to make it stay.
