Hey guys. The computers at my school all use the Barracuda Web Shield (blocks certain web pages, etc.) and I was wondering if anyone knew how to bypass it (other than getting Administrator access). Thanks! :D

Proxy sites are usually blocked, too.

At our school, we were able to use Babelfish to translate a page from say, Chinese to English (even though the page was in English already, which meant it didn't do anything. Translating from Chinese means that English phrases or words that match other European languages won't get translated when they're not supposed to be...French to English mistakes a lot of English phrases or parts or words as being French and gives the English of it, which causes fuckage), at which point you could use the Babelfish client to navigate to a proxy site, where you could then use a proxy to avoid dealing with the graphical screw ups caused by Babelfish.

Before we had to do that, though, simply taking the period off after the www. would 404 the page, which would permanently glitch the blocker into letting you access any page afterward for that session.

Idk what my school does but a girl used a proxy to get on Myspace (lulz) she got on site but they found out. They probably just go through history thats sent to another computer so you can't delete it. Or they just saw her monitor hah. Schools will freak out over the tiniest things. In middle school I got banned off the computers for a whole year for being in CMD and "hacking the administrator account". (Also destroying the connection and program a teacher was using to view my monitor and putting a message up on her screen saying GTFOff MY COMPUTER!)

You could always set up a web server and host CGIProxy on your home computer and access that from school. When it gets blocked just go to afraid.org and create a sub domain for your ip.

Does your school have a program that allows teachers to see the monitor of students?

My school uses 8e6 technologies to block webpages. So far I have only been able to get pass the filter by using certain proxies which are now blocked, as well as using JAP (but that takes too long to set up on our school's slow computers, so I don't use it very often).

Last year at my school we blocked one of those programs by unchecking it in Windows Firewall. It took the teachers forever to figure out why they couldn't see our screens.

it sucks at my school all it says is this this page is blocked by web blocker. And their are admins watching what were doing, they can view our screens, and its on a networks. Me and my friend worked on a proxy last year to get to youtube, and by the end of the year they vbocked his site, but it not the site they blocke it the host so all he has to do is change hosts. Then you tube went and gayed them them self and changed their coding, so only a few proxies work.

off topic: does any one know ho i can rip a web page completely with the scripts and players. if some one can do it i would be so thank full, http://www.youtubeproxy.co.uk/index.php thats the link.

I have a program that takes any video you want with like 40 sites to choose from (youtube included). After it downloads them it automatically puts them into your media player (IE Itunes) so you are able to put on your mp3 player.

Use a cell phone, they can get you internet access. Or if you can, a psp. Schools now (at least mine) have programs to see what you're doing on the computer and if you go on blocked sites or try to disable the program you can get suspended.

For Windows, you can usually restart in safemode, and about 10% of the time, they are too lazy to set a password to it. If they are, then use BartPE and simply reset the admin password, create a new account, hide it, and do whatever you want. I personally would install a firewall, and block the people from seeing you.

Hmm, heres something else I do

I dont know what the fuck I'm talking about sooo
I'll explain to the best of my ability

Open Command Prompt
Enter the word ping, followed by a space, then the domain name.

Image

Take that code that pops up (Not the one in the picture dumbass) and type it into your browser.

EX.
(click for laughs)

Use this to bybass filters.
What I do is I ping a proxy =]
I don't know...They have kodewerx blocked at school so I use a proxy
And they usally don't block https:// or whatever it is.

That would work, but most schools block CMD.

Make a batch file

Open notepad

Copy/paste this

@echo off
start command

save as

Command.bat

Then you're kinda unlucky. I can use Skeleto's method to access some proxies and some sites. Thankfully neither CMD nor run are blocked. The only thing that protects our school's computers locally is DeepFreeze which does nothing but prevent people from making major changes to the system - plus its not even installed on some computers, which have admin priveleges! Which pretty much means that you can install programs, delete accounts, and all that crap, and the admins never find out unless a student tells them, which never happens - most just move to a different computer if theres a problem.

I'm homeschooled this year, but last year I was at a public school. If you use up the free space on the hard drive, DeepFreeze will be disabled and it will log you into the admin account.

My school just has some custom proxy that blocks sites such as Myspace, YouTube, AIM.com, Facebook, etc. For me, if you download Firefox, and install it, you can disable the proxy. (Tools> options> advanced> network> connections> settings) Either the Firefox doesn't apply the proxy, or you have to select the "Direct connection to the internet" box.

Ah, my high school used that, and holy fuck was it ever slow. I didn't bother to look for ways around it aside from proxies, since they worked fine.

They had Deep Freeze too but they had no idea how to use it. They used dumb passwords like "freezer" and forgot to actually turn it on in a number of cases. There were quite a few machines where they set it to activate next time it was booted, but they never actually got rebooted. In one case they installed it after I'd fucked around, so things like Firefox were permanently installed. :D

Of course they never set BIOS passwords either so getting rid of it was a simple manner of deleting it in DOS from a boot disk (using NTFSDOS for the rare WinXP machines). Or for more fun you could delete just the interface, and they'd have no way to turn it off. Ha!

Post subject:  Re: Bypassing Barracuda Web Block

That sounds peculiarly similar to my school, except every proxy i can think of is blocked. My friend and I were able to use the DeepFreeze password cracker on one machine because the Registry entries for the program were incorrectly set, allowing anyone to use the program to its full extent. But my friend recently gave me another local proxy similar to Jap, but doesn't take nearly as long to boot up, nor is it as obvious. Although using internet at my school is pretty much useless because theres free wireless internet at a restaraunt that doesn't mind if you just sit down and don't order anything, and they're only a block away :D
