Banned? If you are talking about Metroid Prime Hunters, please keep in mind that this forum is not specific to MPH hacking.
As far as that goes, I was banned back in early July (Notice this is before AR came out in August) for a brief period as they were investigating the original /root. Here are some excerpts from my blog when I covered the incident:

Saturday, July 08, 2006 Dear Nintendo,
I have some interesting news for my readers, out there. (All 3 of you.) Nintendo has gained official interest in my exploits of their online gaming service. Yesterday, this very profile was visited by both Nintendo of America (NOA) and Nintendo Co. Limited (NCL) direct from Redmond, Washington and Kyoto, Japan, respectively. Hello, Nintendo employees! I just wish you weren't so discreet about your investigation. (Let's be serious, I could use the notoriety.)
I suppose I've accomplished the goal I set out to achieve; getting noticed. But now I have to unban my DS from Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection so I can play Tetris DS online again. Thanks a lot for that, I guess. I imagine it should be no surprise that I am looking forward to the next WFC title, which I believe is StarFox. Just be sure to tighten up the securty on it some! Please?
That is all for now.

Tuesday, July 11, 2006 Nintendo of America follow up
I received a call this morning, roughly 5 minutes ago, from Nintendo of America Call Center manager, Tom Brown (please excuse if I botched your name, it was a bit exciting). The story goes he had received word, just this morning, of my current situation and kindly followed up with me. I was asked politely to cease hacking the leader board, to which I agreed after confirming that my Nintendo Power subscription is indeed still active.
"Of course it's still active; you paid for it..." is the response I received. For a moment there, I figured some legal action would have had to been taken to correct the issue. Apparently, the error I received from the MyNintendo website informing me that my Nintendo Power member subscription number is "incorrect" was caused by linking it to my now-banned account. If all goes well, I may even get that account back in the next few days. I'm pleased to report that all seems well in the land of Nintendo.
I will give my second follow up in two-three weeks, when I expect to receive the September issue of Nintendo Power magazine. We will also see by then if my MyNintendo account has been unbanned, as well as my IP address from the forums. Stay tuned!
They did eventually lift the ban, but not before I changed the WiFi Connection ID on my DS, myself, circumventing the ban completely. To accomplish this, I wrote a very small homebrew program to erase the WFC ID from the NDS firmware, and replaced it with random numbers for a new one.
"Being banned" involves receiving an error message along the lines of "Could not connect with this connection ID." in all games when attempting to connect to WFC.
As far as I know, at least two others here have been banned.
