(The nds file changed sizes when I repacked it, so the patcher wouldn't make a patch.)

Look around. It's actually a good racing game. It only works on real hardware so don't ask.

There is an awesome patcher called BSDiff that is capable of handling repacked NDS ROMs while creating tiny patch files. The only trouble is it takes a very powerful machine to create a patch file. (Expect it to take 30+ minutes on a 2GHz CPU with 1GB RAM.)
