Title: Ancient Code Sage
Code:
Game ID
YLTE E98992CA

SLOT 1 Player CODES ( 8-28-2009 addendum: It appears saving the game to any one of the three
slots will work as well so far.) Also, some codes will require you to save your game for them to be permanent and will only need to be used once, while others like picarats and coins that change will require you to keep the code on all the time.

Code:
255 Hints Coins
021E6914 00FF00FF

or to allow only what the game actually has....
Code:
230 Hint Coins
021E6914 00E600E6

Code:
5535 Picarats
021E6918 0000FFFF

WARNING!!!! If you use the next two codes that follow do so knowing you can ruin your story line and possibly your save. It is highly recommended you try them in a different player spot before trying them in your main game save spot. These codes will unlock these items. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Code:
All Mysteries unlocked and solved  (Press L + R)
94000130 FCFF0000
021E69C8 FFFFFFFF
021E69CC FFFFFFFF
021E69D0 FFFFFFFF
D2000000 00000000

Code:
All Journal Entries Unlocked and Read (Press L + R)
94000130 FCFF0000
021E69A8 FFFFFFFF
021E69AC FFFFFFFF
021E69B0 FFFFFFFF
D2000000 00000000

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Code:
Old Diary Complete and Read
021E69FC F000FFFF

Code:
Have Hamster and Full Tea Set w no brews made
021E6968 020000FF

Code:
Have Hamster and Full Tea Set all brews made
021E6968 05FFFFFF

NOTE:(use once and save game,
the exercise hamster for 30 steps to unlock Animal Lovers House).

Code:
Have 9 of every Hamster Toy Item
021E696C 09090909
021E6970 09090909
021E6974 00000909

Now I am just getting started here....I don't know how many actual items the game allows or has.

Maybe Kenobi will jump in and get those unlocks for all the puzzles like he did last with the Curious Village.

A "Picarats reward for a puzzle never decreases" code would be immensely useful; that's the code I used the most on the first game.

That type of code will require an ASM hack to do a nop operation on whatever value is set for each puzzle...that is why I just hacked the picarats above. I am still looking into that.

In the meantime....

Code:
Have Completed Assembled Camera   note: having this will reveal hidden puzzles.
021E6934 FFFFFFFF

added alternate version of code 8-26-2009. You will need to assemble camera.

Code:
Have all camera parts
021E6934 404303FF

Code:
All Camera Pictures Taken
021E69D4 FFFFFFFF
021E69D8 FFFFFFFF

I've noticed that the maxed picarats code doesn't save onto the file permanently, when I turned the code off when using my AR, the picarat count went back to 0.

Make sure you save the game status in the Prof's trunk. That goes for anything else you turn on from the above codes. I try to test each code a few times before I release it...please try my suggestion and let me know if you still are not saving the value. Also, codes like have camera, hamster, tea set, diary...etc...only need to be used once since again, when you save the game you should save item status as well.

Ah, I see.

I did however get the other 'item' codes to work during an already saved game by attaching an activator to it. That way I was able to get all the hamster toys without the data being rewritten.

What if someone could get codes for getting into the 'Secret of the Elysian Box' page or the 'Ticket to Time Travel' page by using the code 'password'... There's one for the prequel game to get throught the secret door...

The most useful code would be one to unlock Ticket to Time Travel (in the hidden door) using any password (someone did this for the first game) ... which is the one thing that can't be done through normal play (at least until the third game comes out)

I have unlocked the hidden doors items without cracking the password....I simply unlocked them both. Sadly I did not write the code down from the mem ed. I am reworking it now and hope to have it soon. As proof I unlocked them....

UPDATE! 9-6-2009

I found the code (again) to unlock the Hidden Door
Code:
Unlock Hidden Door Bonuses (Refresh the screen to unlock)
021E6A00 FFFFFFFF

Just make sure your game file has the same name as the save or adjust it to make it the same...aka rename it. This save is for no$gba. Convert it as you like for whatever system you want using http://www.shunyweb.info/convert.php

This is great, I can't wait to get the codes for this...

P.S: Is your save file completed? I.e: 100% (laytons challenges, teas, and story)

No....I think I had 115 puzzles solved. Which, btw, most of those I did on my own...hey, I did not want to ruin the game for me that much. LOL.

There is still much work to do:

Max Picarats - Get the max picarats per puzzle.

Solve it enabled for all puzzles.

Weekly puzzles unlocked - Remember, the puzzles are actually there already...you really don't download anything new, BUT you need to have a WiFi connection sensed or better trick it into thinking there is OR...just brute force hack it open like Kenobi did last time....

Layton Challenges Unlocked.

And I am sure there are more folks want.

Ciao

230 is the max number of hint coins you can get in the game. You get a special picture of Luke with a blue crown next to the hint coin total once that is achieved.

Well, I loaded the save file, and I confirmed that it works fine in no$gba, but the doors aren't too terribly interesting compared to the overall gameplay. I think the codes related to making gameplay easier are a bit more high priority. ;)

Great job so far, macrox! :D

Unlocking things that can't yet be unlocked normally is useful, but is this type of game really that difficult that you need codes to do everything for you - as it is, you can't die, you can't fail missions, you can't miss important items (besides some hint coins), etc and there's already a detailed walkthrough if players get stuck

Thanks to macrox for doing the work though, particularly with the hidden doors (which is also useful for players who no longer have the first game)

Thank you all for the comments and praises....

It is all relative regarding what is useful, needed, wanted etc....

Gamers have the freedom to not use cheat codes whether they be in game or cheat device founded.

In this game I believe the programmers made it so that you can always get the minimum number of picarats to unlock bonus puzzles. They made the game play to allow for that since they did not want to shut out puzzles for the game owner. There are some minor things that only certain other achievements will unlock...such as number of hint coins, and in that it may be useful to use the 230 of 255 hint coin code.

To me...as a code hacker....I separate out the my code hobby from my game play. Another thing, not that code hackers are martyrs but truth be told....hacking codes can and will most likely deduct from the fun our own gaming pleasure.

Personally, games that monitor your health status are a double edge sword. Personally to me...infinite health allows me to play the game through where without it, I would not get very far. Castlevania games for GBA and DS are ones that come to my mind right away. Many of the older SNES games are also a real pain to get through without infinite health.

My suggestion is always to try the game on your own and finish what you can (heh...for me...that is not very far at all in some games). Everyone will do that at his or her own pace and whatever they cannot do, then it is a free world, and if they want to use the codes, then that is their personal decision. Further comment beyond that is beyond the scope of this post's intent...which is to post game codes.

Yes, indeed

Just to clarify, my comments were solely in relation to this game

Infinite health, etc for action games can certainly be useful - not everyone has the same arcade skills and you still get to experience the entire game while using the cheats

I just found it interesting how many cheats some players are asking for - if someone used most of the cheats for this type of game, one would think there'd hardly be any game left to play (which, of course, is obviously their choice to do)

I'm sure many here will find the hint coin cheat useful

Anyway, keep up the fine work macrox and thanks again for your work on getting past the hidden doors

Code:
All  26 Tea Brews Served and unlocks Bonus Tea Master's House - Press L + R)
94000130 FCFF0000
021E69DC FFFFFFFF
D2000000 00000000

NOTE: DO NOT USE UNTIL YOU GET TO TOWN OF FOLSENSE!

ALSO, I would save as soon as the Tea Master House is unlocked and not proceed to Bonus screen directly!

UPDATE: 10-3-2009 See damn it....I was afraid this would happen.... Certain codes screw up the story line...and in this case using this damn code prevent certain characters from asking you certain puzzles... SO....should this really be a real result besides what I see in my files...then just use this code to reverse the effect and all will be fine again...

I am sorry this might have happened. I try to test all the codes over and over....and this is just making me pissing mad this could happen. Should you get stuck because of using the all tea served code...then you will have to use this code in order to salvage your game. You will have to go back and serve the tea all over again in order to unlock the Tea Master's House. Note that only a few town characters will ask you a puzzle....not all. I will keep checking on this to see exactly what is going on and report back when I have more info.

Code:
Reset Tea served to none - press L + R
94000130 FCFF0000
021E69DC 00000000
D2000000 00000000

Now you should be able to play the game out and get to all the puzzles you might not be able to get otherwise. Yeah, I know....Kenobi unlocked them all with his code...but remember he also turned off the save feature....so even though you have that option to play puzzles you really did not meet in the game...you cannot save the progress.

I have done more testing on the codes that possibly erased data. I have edited those codes above to now be activator types to make them more robust. Heh, who said cheating was easy?

Also, look up to the hidden door section....I did re-hack that code to unlock both sections behind the Hidden door.

Ok.

Kenobi has joined me on hacking this game.....

Code:
Max Picarats per puzzle
020823E8 E20100FF
02082438 E1800105
520F11EC E1D27FB8
020823E8 E3A00000
02082438 E1A00000
020F37CC E3A00000
020F11F0 E3A00000
D2000000 00000000

He gave me a test code to unlock all puzzles BUT it is not stable and ruins game saves and progress....so I was asked by him not to release it yet....

Back later with more info...

(Tested on R4 v1.18, YS Menu, M3Rea and CycloDS to work. Still issues with R4 clones of the SDHC family. Should work with Action Replay DS. Issues with DSTT expected as R4SDHC based on it. Quoting Kenobi, " Almost impossible to have this code work with every type of flash card due to various difference in code handlers and hooks."

NOTES:
* : You'll see only one puzzle on the weekly puzzle screen (even if you never downloaded them), no worry, it's an effect of the code (it'll be gone once the code is turned off).

The date of the puzzle will be changed to the puzzle internal number.

When you'll press left/right, the name of the puzzle will be written over the old name.

Press down/up to refresh the name. Sometime, some puzzle have no names, so be careful (they might be beta, or removed puzzle, and could lead to a crash).

Saving puzzle has been disable with this code, so you won't screw up your game in case you finish a puzzle you didn't get in-game.

If you wanna resume your normal game, turn off the NDS and switch off the code to re-enable saving.

With this code you'll get access to every puzzle in the game (and not only the weekly puzzles).

You shouldn't try to download weekly puzzles while the code is active.

Anyone with further info using this code on their flash card should feel free to add their observations. Please state what type of flash card you are using, firmware version etc....and what you observe.

The Max Picarats per puzzle code works great! :D
The Weekly Puzzles also works fine, though the titles of the puzzles get mushed together when using the left and right buttons. The game isn't clearing the text before drawing the new puzzle title. Minor hitch really, but it does make it difficult to figure out which puzzle is going to pop up. this is on the M3 Real with firmware 4.4a_E52.

Ah yes....the work around for the mushed up text .....press the down button and then up....the screen will clear the garbled text. Then just press left or right and walk your way thru....still working great on the cyclods...but sadly not on the R4 clone at all right now.

action replay codes for CURIOUS VILLAGE weekly puzzles doesn't work for No$gba.
Only a single weekly puzzle works
I tried holding R or L then pressing left or right, puzzle doesn't change.
Though codes for weekly puzzle for dibolical box works very well in No$gba.
I CLEARED all of them!!!Only weekly puzzles for curious village are left.

Might want to post that in the thread for the original game? Try Desmume though, it's an emulator that actually gets developed more frequently. no$gba kinda died.
