Using the pre-existing topic was definitely the right choice.
P.S. Ooh yeah, saw that RAM value on Datel's EU Yoshi's Island moonjump. I guess I was too lazy to update it. :P Oh well.
I did use the FFFF halfword for v1.1. So no need to update that one. ;)

I hope there wasn't already an infinite hit stun code >.>

I was hoping the hit stun would protect from auto-killers like spikes and lava, but of course, it doesn't.

If No$GBA ran faster I'd make a "can't be killed by spikes and lava" by screwing up reads of my X, Y position, but as I can't do that I'll need to take another approach.

Any ideas? The spikes and lava in the extra levels are a real bitch. :\

-Find the address that controls it
-Hope that by finding this address we can find the others.

X is the level number of the world that has the color of Yoshi you would like Yoshi to be.

This code might screw up if you choose that options thing that comes after the mini game level of a world. This would be the 12th square from left to right and top to bottom if you scrolled through the menu of levels in the level select screen.

From what I saw in the programming, that is the biggest potential issue...

If can find a place to hook from the game, I could make this code much more fail proof.

Edit: did some testing; had NO problems with the code so far. I tried all of the things I thought would cause problems.

Also, when I tested the code, I only used the first line. Apparently the second line is unnecessary. So, now we have a nice little one line code.

It won't work in emulators until after the emulator recompiles, but if the emulator uses an interpreter core like No$GBA does then the code will still work fine.

The code IS an ASM edit, as DSMan had predicted. :P

how do you get white yoshi

You can't with this code. This code just takes the Yoshi for a different level and sets it as the one for the level you are using. Since a white Yoshi doesn't exist in the game, you won't be able to get one.
