Post subject:  Thinking about getting a flashcart.

Well I'm thinking about getting a flashcart for DSv1 (Fat DS). What one should I get and how big of an SD card should I get? Any comments would be appreciated. Also, where should I buy it too. Oh, and what softwares and stuff should I put on it?

Acekard 2.
You know why?
Because they have every feature of any other card that's more expensive.
The fact of the matter here is that for <$20, you can do everything more expensive cards can, period.
It wasn't always that way, but it is now.

Cards worth buying:
Acekard 2
M3DS Real
M3iZero
EZFlash V+
SuperCard DS-One (Note: Annoying motherfucking cheat system, at least in comparison to nearly every other card in existence)

And by the way, I've either owned or used every single card on that list at some point.
I've also owned or used many, many other cards that aren't on that list, for very good reason.

Yet again: Regardless of what you do buy, do your best to avoid a GOD DAMNED CLONE.

So, this Acekard, what all can it do? It seems pretty nice for a card less than 20$ Any idea where I could get this from?

edit
I found a site:
http://www.ableds.com/category-s/45.htm ... 5wodRAqTRA

I have about 40$ to spare, so should I just get the bundle with the 4gb SD card? And also, is this a good site?

Pretty much all flashcarts all do the same damn thing nowadays.

Except for the REALLY low-end shit ones.

Acekard 2 can be had for just under $12 Here.
And that's with free shipping too.
(But keep in mind, these guys may have free shipping, but it's slow as fuck. Expect between 10 and 20 days)

As for a MicroSD card, it all depends on what you're doing.
For just games, a 1GB will hold a good deal of 'em, 10 at the very least I'd say. (DS games can vary in size between tiny little 8MB games all the way up to 128MB)
2GB will hold at least 20. (More realistically, because MOST games don't hit the 128MB mark, it'll hold more like 40+)
4GB will hold PLENTY of games, and more importantly leaves you with room for music, movies, etc, if you decide you'd like that sort of thing on the go.

As for that, you can grab a 4GB Herefor about the price of the Acekard itself.
These guys are sister site to the other place I linked to.
So, again, free shipping, but slow.

And if you need a MicroSD card Reader to go with it: I love these
THEY'RE LESS THAN A DOLLAR, they're fast, and indestructible, I keep one on my keyring.

I had the crazy idea of getting a slot-2 RAM expansion card, for a place to store biiiiiiiiiig hack routines. Are any of those decent?

I'd recommend the EZ-Flash 3-in-1 expansion.
It's not expensive, it's got your RAM expansion, in addition to it's ability to act as a GBA Flashcart, and has Rumble for DS Games that support it.

THEY'RE THE SAME DAMN THING

You could, of course, just get a plain-ol' RAM Expansion.
But to be honest, nobody really does 'em anymore, they're used for so damn little.
You can check eBay for Nintendo's DS Browser, which came with a RAM Expansion.
Most I see go for about $15 - $25.

Oh, and just so you know, the DS doesn't really care how much RAM the Expansion Pack has.
The Official one has 8MB.
The EZFlash 3-in-1 has 16MB.

BECAUSE I'M SURE YOU'LL BE FILLING THAT UP SOME TIME SOON.
