I saw codejunkies had codes for Luxor (US). I tried them (using R4 DS) and they don't work. It does recognize the cheats but they don't seem to work. I was wondering if anyone had any luck with them and/or was working on some. Here are the codes as posted by code junkies: Game ID: YLXE 31c41019 99 Ankhs: 222e00ac 00000063 99 Coins: 222e00a8 00000063 Stat Codes: 100% Accuracy: 022e0078 00063f00 Max Coins Collected: 022e0098 0000270f Max Treasure Collected: 022e009c 0000270f Mac Combo: 022e0088 0000270f Max Chain: 022e008c 0000270f So the Game ID is correct as it's the same the R4 cheat editor shows and it does recognize the cheats, but they just don't seem to work. Any thoughts? |

There are a few games where NONE of the codes work in the R4DS. Luxor, Eragon, Animal Crossing.....those are ones I know of... I imagine it's because it's not a REAL AR, but just a flash cart. There's something about the actual AR that the flashcart can't emulate.....or maybe it just needs the R4 team to update the AR routines in the R4....I dunno. Possibly, it's the on-the-fly patching that the R4 does to make some games work.....it changes the coding in such a way where the codes aren't valid anymore. But yeah, some games just straight-up don't work with any codes in the R4DS. There are also some games where only certain codes don't work. |

I don't know about Eragon. AC:WW causes problem because the R4DS doesn't support properly the custom (m) code. It also appears the R4DS somewhat caches/protects the code handler area, and if the game tries to (read?)write on it it crashes (ie. even if the (m) code is moved, there is still a flaw in the R4DS that will make the game crash?). I'm not quite sure about Luxor. Either they had to purely disable the cheats to make the game work (by that I mean that even if you enable the cheats, neither the code handler nor the cheats will be loaded), or it's a bug due to their fix. Anyway, the fact is that the code handler is no more loaded for this games, hence no cheat will work. |
