Hey Everyone, My ARDS recently got the two white screens of death, and I was looking into buying another but then remembered this thread. If I am going to make a purchase, I might as well buy a flashcart so I can do homebrew as well! Is there any specific card you guys recommend under...oh...say $50? I won't be running any ROM's or such, and I don't I will need anything over 256mb. Are there only certain cards that work with this program? Also, would this be relatively easy to use for someone who has only limited knowledge of code writing and homebrew? In the past all I used was the ARDS which I found easy enough if I needed to modify a code or something, but I am afraid this might be out of my skill level. Basically all it requires is tranfering codes over to a flashcart, then running them with this program? I know you are doing your best to get all codes to work, but I don't think that I would have the patience to try and get codes to work that used to work fine on ARDS. What do you guys think? Am I better off getting a flashcart (will probably get one eventually anyway), or should I just fork over the $20 and get a new AR (that possibly might break AGAIN)? Any help is greatly appreciated! |

I would get an R4/M3 Simply. (They're identical) You'd also need a micro SD card. You can get a 1 GB for a pretty good price if you shop online. It's very simple to use. -Put your codes in a subscription -Copy subscription to SD card -Put SD card in R4 and win. |

You neglect to mention, the R4 shit only works with ROMs. SithViperX specifically mentions he does not care for ROMs. |

Get any edition of SuperCard. In your case now, it is the best solution. |

After researching a bit I think M3 Simply would be the way to go. It looks like it has a pretty good rep among those who have used it. 1 question though, what is the difference between this and the R4? They look like nearly the same product and both have spectacular reviews from everyone, each claiming one is better than the other. Parasyte you mentioned that it only works with ROMs? If this is true I won't buy it as I don't plan to use them, but what exactly is it incompadible with? Does this program "NitroHax" not work with the R4? For clarification here is what I want to use my cart for: -Running NitroHax in place of an ARDS for my normal DS game carts. NOT ROMS. -Running various homebrew applications and programs. (Need some advice here as to what to get that is good) I'll probably get Moonshell and DSlinux looks cool, but what else? (Web browser would be sweet as well as AIM) -Possibly running ROMs later on...maybe not. Isn't deal breaker either way. What is the better option? Whatever it is, I plan to get it from http://www.realhotstuff.com for about $60 plus 7 dollars shipping with a 1GB mem stick. I would try and get one cheaper, but then I end up having to pay for shipping from two different places and it ends up only saving me about $2-3. Thanks |

The difference between the R4 and the M3 is 1 drop of solder. Homebrew works perfectly fine. I believe Para thought that I was referring to the R4/M3's built in cheat function that only works with ROMs DSLinux isn't too terribly useful without a RAM expansion pack. There is only 1 RAM/Rumble expansion cart out there, the EZ Flash 3-in-1. |

If that is the case I will go with M3 Simply, no particular reason. Thanks for the help on this whole thing, I really had no idea what to get with so many options out there. Plus I found this article. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DS_homebrew TONS of DS Homebrew Apps for me to try out (Any recommendations?). |

Yeah sorry about that, I have gone off topic with my requests for help. This information would really be helpful for other newer members though, so retaining it in a different topic would be very helpful. |

Are you fricking kidding me? Read the fricking thread. It's plain as day. Before you ask another question like that, READ the thread first. |

I am also interested in buying a flashcart. I would like to be able to play ROM's, backups, homebrew games, music, and movies. I've always used ROM's and Emulators so this is all kind of new to me. I have done a little research and came up with the following: http://modchipstore.com/CycloDS-Evoluti ... 16443.html I'm guessing that the microSD card doesn't come with the purchase. If that is the case, would this be compatible with it? I'm basically just looking for now, so price isn't a concern. |
