Hey guys I was wondering if there was an app or maybe a simple guide to make the Game ID for the nds, I want to hack some codes for a game and use it on my flash cart but it needs a Game ID and this game doesn't have one as its new (Xmen Origins: Wolverine). Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for the reply Parasyte, in that thread I figured a quick way of finding the Game ID, and have posted on how to do this in case anyone else needs this info.

Bleh. I'd still rather know the algorithm.

I hate it when people don't document things. >:/

It's a CRC32 over the first few ROM banks. The encryption algorithm is super-documented in my Card Reader sources.

There is nothing to "reveal". As Parasyte said it's been documented. And even discussed some years (already?) ago on KW.
For exemple a little search showed up this, this and this.
(I was certain Parasyte was the first to explain it, but I can't find his original post).

So the algorithm is just a basic crc32 of the 0x200 first bytes of the header, xored with 0xffffffff.

Also I'd point out that amongst all the tools avaible the TTRomPatcher utility displays both AR and CBDS id codes with a simple drag and drop.
