If that happens, it is because of a bug. Fortunately, you provided an example, so that will help me.

You said the code worked, though, right?

Yes, the code works just fine.

That code writes 2224 bytes(!) That cannot be right. No wonder it slows the game so much...

Yikes, well at least the code gave the desired effect and thank God it wasn't a code that had to be on all the time.

Para, after looking over the documentation, I think the code is correct (although I got 2,220 bytes). The code is supposed to write 0x99999999 0x22B times, which is exactly what all three codes do.

I still need to fix the bug mac found and allow the Dipstar-4 to convert straight to AR.

Oh, I figured these loops would be counting from zero. And I still think 2,220 bytes is way too much. Maybe they only wanted to write 0x22C bytes. Any way, the slowness thing can be mostly resolved with an activator. Write 0x99999999 only when the first (or last, etc) variable is not already 0x99999999.

dlong, I just tried converting the code from before and it converted just fine(it worked when I converted from dipstar directly to AR this time), however it still causes the game to run a bit slow, but not as bad as before though.

The conversion is the same. As far as I can tell, it's converted correctly, and the code is just poorly made. Nothing I can do about that. If I read the documentation wrong, someone will have to let me know.

Actually, dlong, there is one small difference in the converted code. When I forst converted the code the second bgan with a 0 and when I converted it just today the second line began with a 2.

Yeah.... um.... can someone here simplify it for me? Because this is REALLY confusing. X_X;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

To me anyway....

I get and understand that 0's go to 2's, 2's go to 0's, and 1's stay the same in the first line... but... what if the first number in the first code line is 3, 4, 5, 6, etc.?

Can someone simplify this for me so I won't have to bug the board to convert AR DS codes to CB DS codes for when Diamond & Pearl comes out tomorrow? Please? Thanks.

Sure, just paste the AR codes into the converter program, set the configuration things to convert from AR to CB, and press the button to convert! Then use one of the master codes given by dlong's master code creator program (you will have to find which one works) and that's all there is to it!

Using this method, you will not be able to mix encrypted (official or otherwise) CB codes with any converted/unencrypted codes.

Greetings dlong.... can you please post the link to your converter? The only one I saw was way back at the beginning of this discussion and it reports "Forbidden". It sounds like your converter is good to go and I would love to check it out. Please help...

Thanks

Ok... another question if I may. I tried using it and am not sure if I am using it correctly. I went to the Codebreaker site and Action Replay site, found the same game on each... same code on each, ie. Infinite Lives. I then pasted the code from CB into the left and set the source as CB. I set the conversion to AR and hit "convert." So far, every code I have tried, either CB to AR or AR to CB gives me an error saying it is the wrong code type.

What am I doing wrong????

Thanks

Official CB codes are encrypted. This program cannot encrypt or decrypt them.

So... that link is the link to converter program?

If so... will it work for a Windows 98 computer?

Thanks.

It should work. I would expect it does not require additional runtime environments, since it is compiled with wxWidgets, but I wouldn't say that for certain.

It shouldn't. It worked fine on my laptop which doesn't have anything to do with wxWidgets on there.

Sorry about caps lock being on. I'm just trying to help out a friend who doesn't seem to have a head for coding, but owns an AR. Never mind on this last comment that i just removed, i found the code request page.
