Not to sound stupid (I know, too late! ), but do I download the ndsconvert from this topic? Cause when I clicked on the link that dlong gives in the beginning of the post (http://www.utc.edu/Daniel-Long/ndsconvert.exe) and try to open it, my computer tells me that it is not a valid Win32 application. Am I doing something wrong? Or is it my computer? This computer has given me so much trouble, sometimes I want to throw it out a window.

Version 2.0 is out.

The link has changed, because of Dev-C++ sucking and making me start a new project.

To-do:
-Improve input handling
-Convert from Win32 API to GTK+ or wxWidgets

kelley: What OS are you using?

wxWidgets is here.

Win32 x86 binary
Win32 AMD64 and Mac OSX PPC will be forthcoming. A non-distro specific Linux binary may also come out. If not, use WINE.

Thank you for this program. I appreciate the hard work. It is cool!

Problem... I have Dipstar master codes and not Action Replay Game ID and Game Code. I have a program that translates dipstar to AR, but i Have no way of finding the game info. Is it in the .sav files somewhere. If so how the heck to I get to it?

I have been able to dump my .sav files with very good results.

Or...is there a standard for mastercode to ar id/code translation that I don't know about.

The Game is Izuna Legend of the Unemployed Ninja.

Dipstar Master Code
F2063C54 E12FFF1E

Code on Front/Back of GameCart
NTR-AHSE-USA on the front and
ASHEN0J34 on the back

I think the Game ID is the AHSE it seems to conform to the Game ID convention in AR????

I would also use dipstar if anyone knows how to get my carts dumped without the white screen!

Thank you in advance!

EDIT: Correction to number on back of cart...thanks!

Dipstar master codes are not needed for AR. Dipstar does not work with original carts, as far as I know.

The AR will give you the game ID code automatically (somewhere... maybe one of the hidden menus? I don't have an AR...) Or you can use Sappharad's AR code manager (find it on his website: http://www.sappharad.com) and a ROM file to very easily get the ID code. The AR ID codes are actually generated with a crc32 over the ROM header.

I have hunted for this code and seem to need it to input to my AR...I will try the link...thanks again.

EDIT: Well no luck there it is a brand new game and no one seems to have the AR code.

So if I understand you correctly I can get this from a dumped ROM or an original cart. I think you mean a dump. I still can not seem to do that correctly.

Thanks again.

The game ID and game code can be found by putting the game in Slot-1 after you boot up the AR; as long as you have no codes for it.

Last I checked it did. It just does not work with WiFi compatible games. Other then that, all you need is a passme + gba flashcart + original game.

Try it again. According to qman, AMD compiled programs won't work on x86. The version linked to in my last post is x86.

Dualscreenman!!!!!!!!!!! Outstanding. It does work. Boy I am an idiot when it comes to the gaming scene. My first video game purchase is the NDS and I am SO SO old. Mostly I was just wanting it to run dslinux and the opera browser on something PINK, but now I find games and game codes kinda fun!

Thank you so much it gave me the code. I still can't believe it was that easy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fucking fabulous I am so stoked!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You know this did not work before I could update the AR firmware. It kept telling me unknown game. Thanks agian. I was able to translate a few codes thanks to this site and dlong!

I talked to Para recently, and there seems to be a problem converting AR '9' codes to CB. At best, the code is inefficient. At worst it does not work. I will fix it when school decides that they have raped me enough for the time being. Every other code type works properly to the best of my knowledge.

Yuki, did you have a question or comment containing words? If there is no answer by tomorrow, these last three posts (along with any other related posts) will be moved to Surf Nazis.

Update: I lost the source (LOLZ), but then found it on my laptop. I lucked out, because I had forgotten to back-up my source like usual. That's taken care of now. Anyway, hopefully all my homework will be done by monday and I can get back to work. Once I get started it shouldn't take too long to fix.

Cool program, dlong. Just to let everyone know, if you are trying to convert a code form dipstar to AR and the program is telling you unknown code type, there is a way around this. Simply convert the code form dipstar to CB then from CB to AR. It worked for me anyway, though for some reason the code did cause the game to run slow, but when I saved and restarted my game it ran fine.
The codes:
Dipstar(Original)
ALL CARDS x9 + 100% Collected
42105AE0 99999999
2000022B 00000004

To Codebreaker
ALL CARDS x9 + 100% Collected
42105AE0 022B0001
99999999 00000000

Finally, To AR
ALL CARDS x9 + 100% Collected
C0000000 0000022B
02105AE0 99999999
DC000000 00000004
D2000000 00000000

The code I converted was for Yu-Gi-Oh GX Spirit Caller, BTW.
