Is it possible to rip a GC rom onto a disk as an ISO or something similar to play it on the real GC, rather than an emulator?

Lol, thanks Parasyte...

Could I use a Mini DVD? Or is there a special type of disk that I need?

A gamecube ROM is an ISO.

Burning it to a MiniDVD will not allow it to play in an unmodified GameCube.

A GameCube must have some way of circumventing Nintendo's copyright enforcements. (BROAD term)
If it does not, it will not play burned games.

Most commonly? People use modchips.

Of course, if you didn't know this, and are bothering to ask if you can just burn an ISO to a disc and play it, then I'd assume it's a bit over your head, so I won't waste my time explaining it.

Just click here.

Modding a GC, huh...
Thanks jleemero, I'll look in to that.

My god, this is harder than I thought...
Is there a simpler way to do this?

Nope.

You see, companies put a lot of effort into preventing children like you from breaking the law.
They always fail in the end, but they do try pretty hard.

Meh...

Would I have to mod a PS2 to do the same thing? Play PS2 ISOs? Or did Sony let it slide?

YES YOU WOULD HAVE TO MOD A PS2.

Let's just sum it up y'all, to play off of discs right now, without ANY modification AT ALL?
Dreamcast, because Sega fucked up big time by including no copy-protection, because they used a proprietary disc format.
People learned how to put those games onto CDs, and using some shit I won't go into, you can now just burn and play Dreamcast ISOs.

Dreamcast is the ONLY exception.

You need to MOD consoles to VIOLATE THE DMCA on them.

Some of the simplest consoles to Mod for this purpose include the original Xbox, and even more so, Nintendo's Wii.

Now is probably not the best time to mention that it's not possible to violate a law that doesn't even exist.

Lol, I knew that but...

Why does it seem that so many sites have been affected by the DMCA recently? Torrent sites, hacking sites, rom sites...
Other than the obvious piracy/copyright reasons but, why now? Did something change?

Because they are cracking down on it because companies are supposedly losing money, and so people cant just get free movies, music, games, and other shit the companies want you to pay for. Though i personally dont believe in paying 50 bucks for 12 or less hours of entertainment.

If you want to mod your gamecube, the easiest way is to get a GCN Action Replay and search tehskeen or something for the rest of the apps and stuff you need.
