When torrenting, is 60-80 kB a good speed with 13 sources?

I was looking at a site to help increase speed transfers with torrent clients and it said for a 3MB connection like mine I should be downloading at 300k?

What the hell? Is that true?!

Title: Mr. Bitches
I have a 1.5MB connection. When I haver really good speeds, they're a bit over 150, sometimes peaking near 200. I don't really get those much, but when I do. :)

60-80 is okay.

it depends on who is sharing/leeching and if you have configured your connection/router to be "connectible"

After someone on Underground Gamer sent me a connectible guide I got really good speeds and I have seen some torrents hit 400, but rare.

I managed to get 140 kB last night! I don't know how, my PC reset and when I started leeching Silent Hill 3 again it was averaging 140-150? There must be other things I can do to increase my speed with BitLord.

There are loads of clients out there. I use BitTornado, because of its configurable speed settings.

BitLord works well with my firewell, when I use BitTorrent, BitComent, etc. It get EXTREMELY low speeds, but BitLord works around it great.

BitLord has configurable speeds aswell, I changed my upload speed and I gained about 20kB download speed. I left my download speed at unlimited though I heard it actually might affect speeds.

I think you misunderstand the idea of a firewall; They don't slow connections down, they stop them entirely and completely. The slowdown you have experienced is not an artifact of a firewall, but more like shit software/protocols/peers/etc.
