Rearrange your party to make the character the first character. You can do it manually from the menu. THEN apply the codes.

Have patience. I'm still building the list. It's gonna be a few days. The values are scattered all over. I found most of them by looking at the PS2 Moves list and found legitimate values one off from each of those groups. Monsters and human classes have a pattern but NPCs do not.

If you want to help, here's what I need: I need to figure out which values work and what they do. Go into battle with the sprite mod code set to different values in the range from 0000-2FFF. It's faster with an emulator, but not by much. I'm not trying to complain but I could really use the help.

If you equip a character with a weapon their sprite cannot carry (for example changing Laharl into any monster class or NPC sprite while equipped with any non-monster weapon), the sprite will be stuck in an attack pose when standing still, and will glitch when fighting.

Some sprites (such as human Kurtis) may cause crashes if not properly equiped. There is no fix other than making their equiped weapon match what they would carry on their stage.

Sprite also affects voice.



what about the out of battle sprite can you get that too?

Only Laharl has an out-of-battle sprite since he's the main character, and cut-scenes are scripted in the ROM, so you can't edit those.

There is no activator except the one we use for all codes. Can you be more specific? Who were you trying to change?

i put in the code but nothing happen nothing in my roster change. what is the master codes for the action replay. i dont have the master code so it does nnot work can you tell me or put up the master codes

I don't know the exact base stats for each class. What i meant with JM is that if you set it higher than 7F, you end up with a different list of values.

If the value for the JM address is over 7F, the portrait comes from list A. If it is under or equal to 7F, it comes from list B. To max out JM, the value should be either 7F or FF depending on which list the portrait is in.

The list you posted is list A. No one has mapped list B yet.


what si the jm address i was looking for them but had no luck can you tell me what the jm is i know it not the jump of a character because i tried it and it did not work for mid-boss.

A few are missing though: Beauty Queen, Tyrant, and Jobless are found in the title modifier code at random values, but they aren't classes. Someone mentioned Baal having 6 classes and there's an item God 2. I have no idea where these classes are.



can you explain what to put in the extra x`s in this code 121D109C 0000xxxx - Class i put it in to the action relpay but i was missing a numd=ber or letter so it did not work can you explain how the code work.

For the mid-boss code:
1) It needs to be updated with the sprite mod code. I'm gonna edit that post when I'm done here.
2) The only master code you should need is the game ID thing posted on page 1

That may be my fault. It seems that I have 2 portrait mod codes in the block. The one I labeled is actually a secondary or portrait override, which seems buggy and I'm not sure how it is used. The one marked with a question mark that is near the council level code, IS the proper mod for portraits. I corrected this in my original post and the mid-boss code I posted on page 3.

Hi guys I'm new to posting but I came across something interesting. When you put in mastersord's code to change the class (and battle sprite since it happened while both were active) and then reincarnate that character they become that particular class all around. I tried it with a Surt and the code was for Adell, but i ended up with a character with only 5 MV and 19 JM. When I reincarnated him all of the base stats including Counter, MV, and JM changed to Adell's base settings. I haven't tested whether or not the change works perfectly but it's something i wanted to point out. Thanks a lot for the codes mastersord! :D

I tried the edited character portrait code and noticed only floone and etna picture changed to mid-boss.Im not sure what the jm does exactly but i noticed it alters the movement and how high a character jumps.

I think you got the endianness mixed up.

Otherwise, yeah, 32 bit writes are cleaner.

Because it would be more complicated to explain. when you have 2 8-bit values and you combine them to make a 16-bit code, they get swapped around. The same thing happens in 32-bit codes.

221D10B4 00000011 - Name

becomes

021D10B4 44332211

So now instead of having a bunch of 8-bit codes in order, I have to break up the name into 4-letter groups and reverse each group in order to get the name right. I can do that and maybe you can too, but can everyone else?

Also, your 32-bit code is wrong by my calculation. You didn't reverse the bits properly.

When you change the class of a character, all it's saying is "this is the growth model this character must follow from this point forward". I bet you could start off with a cleric and after learning all it's skills, reset it's level to one and change it's class to a mage, using my codes instead of the game's reincarnation option, and then go out and re-level the character. Not only will it learn the mage skills and keep the cleric skills, but it will not lose any base stats from leveling as a cleric, and it will gain the stat increases from the mage class on top of the existing base stats.

the code is good but only etna changes to mid-boss every one else changes into somthing different preson or geo stone why is that?

Seems the different monsters and characters have different portrait values.


Using a hobgoblin I input:

221D10C9 00000080

And it gave me Vyers/Mid-boss portrait on the hobgoblin

While the other value F0 would only give me a working portrait on Laharl and Etna.
