Meh, they don't work. Two testers have confirmed it.

It appears that the game even locates the pointers randomly.

I'm assuming there's no update to this? Every website that I've been to, has different codes and none of them work. I've heard that the game puts the values of each item (gold, gems, etc.) in random spots (Dualscreenman said this too). :(

Yeah, no update yet. I won't have time to do anything this weekend, but I'll make a last-resort try to find a pointer to the pointers I found.

I'm curious if anyone has looked into the UK version. I can't understand why a company would go through the hassle of completely changing memory allocation to release this game in the US. I believe the game was originally developed in Europe. Not that this REALLY matters, but I'm just considering the idea that the UK version might suffer the same memory swapping, but codejunkies being UK and this game being UK, they might have had extra time (and regional responsibility) to locate and isolate the swapping.

Considering how the game saves directly after a battle (I know for certain it doesn't save during), the memory pointers must be allocated with the save so at the next start of the game (power on, reset, etc) the game swaps the areas. The question remains where is the pointer information being saved and when. I don't have my Trainer Toolkit in yet, but I'll hopefully be able to help at that time. The memory pointer is going to be the best bet for stopping the problem because it shouldn't have the ability to move.

I know this is a very basic idea of the problem, but I'm hoping you guys can expound (or denounce) my theory with another idea.

I'm not claiming I made these codes. I've been talking to a UK Datel employee who asked me to try these codes out. These are the ones that I've personally tested after multiple resets and on both new characters and previously made. The latter are codes he has sent me that I've yet to verify. Going to send him a reply on my findings, but wanted to give you guys a chance to try these out.

Puzzle Quest US

Max Cash (doesn't go away after reset)
6214D038 00000000
b214D038 00000000
b0000004 00000000
0000008c 0001869f
d2000000 00000000

Max Level (beware, gives lvl 50 but not the skill points for each level)
6214D038 00000000
b214D038 00000000
b0000004 00000000
20000060 00000032
d2000000 00000000

Infinite Health (give 1000 health but can reset to get original health back)
6214D038 00000000
b214D038 00000000
b0000004 00000000
1000005c 000003e8
10000068 000003e8
d2000000 00000000

Couldn't figure out how this one is supposed to work, hopefully someone else will have better luck.

Max Wild Cards
6214D038 00000000
b214D038 00000000
b0000004 00000000
10000064 000003e7
d2000000 00000000

I still need to try these, but they seem fairly obvious.

Allow Illegal Moves
1204C986 00002034

Quests Never Fail
1209CA0C 00002601

Captures Never Fail
1202D5C8 00002400
1202D7C2 00002400

So far so good for me. I'll be testing the rest of the codes this afternoon. I will say with the money code it doesn't seem like you need anything else as you can buy more skill points using the citadel.

Allow Illegal Moves code works even after reset. I can't seem to get the others to work, before or after a reset.

Are you talking about all the codes or just the ones I haven't tested?

I meant the Max Cash, Max Level, Infinite Health, and Max Wild Cards. I assume the Max Wild Cards would give Wild Cards for any matching strings. I never did test Quest Never Fail or Captures Never Fail. I will test those after I write this and get back to you.

The "Max Cash" code worked for me. I haven't tried it after resetting, but it gave me 9999999 (plus or minus a digit) gold.

Sent the results back to codejunkies. Hopefully we'll see this on the codejunkies website eventually.

Not sure which one of the codes did it, but I noticed that it screwed up my experience gain for the story mode part of the game. Basically it froze it and I wasn't able to gain anymore experience or go up in levels. Anybody else get this? I'll see if I can isolate which code did this.

I thought I had the same problem, but couldn't get it to occur more than once and wrote it off as my imagination. My xp went to 999 and no further. It happened when I was tested the money code.

money code works fine. the infinite health works also, but sometimes it would make my damage heal my opponent rather than hurt them.
